1978 Mercedes

The team at 181 has been looking after my 1978 Mercedes for the last year or so. They have frequently gone above and beyond in helping me out, sourcing parts at short notice and being flexible. All their work has been performed to the highest standards. Thoroughly recommend them.

Malc and his team are dedicated to providing the very best service. I am nearing the end of a painstaking restoration of my VW beetle with a few optional extras (2.3 fuel injected engine, leather interior, Red9 suspension, hydraulic clutch etc etc). I feel that when I searched for someone to be meticulous with my investment, I definitely made the right choice. Thanks, Malc!
Volkswagen T25

I first came across 182 Classic Motors when Colin, my 40-year-old T25, had to be towed to their previous premises in Newark in freezing weather, having tried umpteen garages that couldn’t/wouldn’t look at it. Even though they were booked up for weeks they made space for it on the forecourt and eventually diagnosed and repaired it. “Hoorah!” I said to my wife after chatting with Malc, “I’ve finally found someone that not only knows how to mend Colin but actually wants too as well! Since then, they have done everything from servicing, tuning, and sensible “vehicle health” checks; to replacement brakes, shock absorbers, and clutch; substantial chassis and suspension repairs, welding and bodywork; and even fitted a “new” replacement engine (great job from Campershack) when the old one blew up at around 200k miles.Throughout, they have been professional, friendly, and on-time, have given regular updates, documented and supplied photographs of all the major repairs, and have produced really good work. Malc’s knowledge of old v dubs is extensive, and he always takes time to explain what’s wrong and why, giving options where possible. The rest of the team are great, including Heni in the office, who is friendly, efficient and a pleasure to deal with.Charges, I would say, are par for quality repairs and service to classic vehicles. OK you might get cheaper, but you are not going to get any better. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend their services. Al in Nottingham

MAZDA RX-7 First Generation 1985

Malc and his team have done an amazing job in restoring my beautiful car. The same make and model my wife and I were married in 30 years ago. From a bare metal stripped-down rusting shell needing a ton of welding, it is now a beautiful piece of automotive history.
Despite my off-the-wall requests (Chevy V8 engine swap, huge in-car hi-fi system) with all the associated technical challenges, Malc and his dedicated team have overcome hundreds of issues to create an amazing car. We look forward to many enjoyable trips out in our RX-7. Thanks again, Malc and team. Dr Nigel McHale

1981 VW T25

“Malc and the 181 team have restored our 1981 T25 and CU engine. Throughout the process, they’ve been open and honest, the resulting job is excellent, and as happens with older vehicles if something has happened the backup has been second to none. Our VW will be “looked after” by the 181 team from this point on!” DG Jeffrey
VW Danbury 1971

We have owned our camper van for over 20 years. During that time we have had the bodywork restored on a piecemeal basis on a number of occasions, so we have some experience.
The major restoration carried out by the team at 182 classic motors in 2019 was extremely thorough, and all the workmanship excellent.
Malcolm kept us up to date with the work, providing detailed photographs at regular intervals.
The whole process was very professional. We were provided with comprehensive estimate and details of the costs incurred as the work progressed.
It’s always a pleasure to visit 182 classic motors. All the team take the trouble to explain the work that is being carried out and they are all clearly, proud of their contribution.
Malcolm is certainly an enthusiast and has a very detailed knowledge. He treated our camper as if it were his own and was clearly concerned to ensure that all the work was completed to resolve both the existing issues and to future proof our camper.
We now have a fabulous camper van.
We would not hesitate to recommend 182 classic motors. Mr & Mrs Nichols
